Christina Finello

Christina Finello

There is good news for the people who live in Pennsylvania’s 1st Congressional District. We have an exceptional candidate for Representative to the U.S. Congress this year, Ivyland Boro Councilwoman Christina Finello, who will be the most effective and responsive advocate for the citizens of PA01 that we have had for many years.

Christina – Chris to people who have gotten to know her – is first and foremost a mother to two young children, a loving wife, and a dedicated public servant who has directed the operations of one of the largest components of Bucks County government, the Division of Housing and Human Services, managing a $225 million annual budget as well as meeting directly with her Department’s clients as they struggle with the complexities of dealing with the government which is there to serve them. Chris has deep roots in Bucks County. She was born in Bristol, raised in Warminster, and now lives in Ivyland. She grew up in a large Irish-Italian, Catholic family here in Bucks County, and comes from a family tradition of service.

Chris has extensive experience, and while looking at a more complete description on her web site at is impressive enough, it is her skills as a listener that really distinguishes her as the most qualified person to serve the needs of our Congressional District. The job of a Member of Congress is primarily to understand the most pressing needs and concerns of her constituents, to always be an attentive listener to those constituents, and to then forcefully and passionately and, most important, effectively advocate for those constituents. This requires skill to be an active listener, a skill enhanced while earning a joint degree in Clinical Psychology and Law from Drexel and Villanova, and practiced on the job and in being responsible for training all of the Magisterial District Judges in the state as part of their ongoing education requirements.

Chris has served throughout her career in positions which require this type of hands-on approach to service, and will in my opinion be the most likely candidate to succeed in her quest to become a Member of Congress, not only in getting elected, but in successfully and effectively doing the job for which we hire her – as our Representative in the U.S. Congress. Unlike our current Representative, she will reach out to all parts of the District, regularly, with public and accessible forums and town halls, which will be open to all of her constituents, and will answer questions without having them prescreened. She will be completely and honestly accountable for her votes in Washington, and will serve us well, both in the Congress as well as here at home, among the people she grew up with, and in the communities which she loves.

Please join me in giving your enthusiastic and overwhelming support for this remarkable and courageous young public servant, a woman who truly is the face of the Government we all want to see.
