MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP >> The Youth Orchestra of Bucks County will present its fall concerts at Maple Point Middle School in Langhorne.

On Saturday, Nov. 21 the Junior and Intermediate Divisions will perform at 2 p.m. That evening, the Advanced Division Wind Ensemble and Philharmonia will perform at 8 p.m. On Sunday, Nov. 22 Fanfare Winds and Symphony Orchestra will play at 4 p.m. YOBC's two-day musical event showcases some of the best student musicians in Bucks and surrounding counties.

The Sunday concert will feature winners of YOBC’s annual concerto competition which was held in June. Kelsey Busch, violin, will perform Praeludium and Allegro by Fritz Kreisler and Torin Li and Dashiell Papula will play Vivaldi's Concerto for Two Cellos in G minor.

Kelsey Busch is a senior at Pennsbury High School and has been violin since age four. She joined YOBC’s Concertino in fourth grade, moving through Philharmonia and then to Symphony Orchestra at age twelve. Currently the YOBC concertmaster, Kelsey is also a founding member and first violin in the YOBC Honors String Quartet. She has participated in PMEA’s district band, regional band, district orchestra, and regional orchestra festivals. In addition, Kelsey plays in her school’s advanced orchestra and band, and sings in the Pennsbury Falconairs. She is co-founder and Vice President of the a cappella group, Harmonium, which is currently in its fourth year.

Torin Li is a senior at Central Bucks East High School. He began playing piano at age six, and then took up the cello at age seven. Over the 10 years he has played cello, Torin has participated in a variety of musical endeavors. He played with both the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra and Temple Prep Chamber Strings before joining YOBC for the past three years. He has also attended numerous PMEA events and been a guest cellist in multiple musical productions such as Aida, Carousel, and most recently Les Misérables.

Dashiell Papula is a senior at Pennsbury High School. He began guitar lessons at age 6 and took up the cello at age 10. Dashiell was one of the first young musicians to join YOBC's new entry-level ensemble Prima Strings when it debuted in 2009. He has progressed through Concertino and Philharmonia, and joined the YOBC Symphony Orchestra in 2012. He is also a member of YOBC's Honors Strings Quartet. In addition to his involvement with YOBC, Dashiell has participated in PMEA festivals and attended Point Counter Point chamber music camp in Vermont. He also accompanied YOBC on the 2014 Italy tour. Dashiell enjoys playing in his high school's pit orchestra and has performed in many chamber ensembles with the school.

The YOBC Honors String Quartet will provide prelude music in the lobby prior to the Sunday concert.

Tickets for all of the performances will be available at the door.
