NEWTOWN BOROUGH >> The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church on Washington Avenue, Newtown, will hold its annual Christmas Charity Bazaar On Saturday, December 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Shoppers can find fresh, hand‐decorated wreaths and swags, home‐made Christmas cookies ($10/box) and other homemade sweets from the bake table, enter one of the more than dozen themed basket raffles, bid on a multitude of silent auction items, visit one of the craft vendors or lunch on made‐from‐scratch beef vegetable or leek and potato soup ($8 includes soup, roll, beverage and dessert). Locals have been known to call it one of the best places to lunch that weekend.
ALL of the proceeds from the event go to support local charities. According to Robin Connell, chairperson of the event, once the proceeds are accounted for, dedicated parish members will decide which charities are in most need. In the past, proceeds have been donated to A Woman’s Place (shelter), The Sunshine Foundation, Make‐a‐Wish, Foundation, Trenton Rescue Mission, the local food pantry and Aid for Friends ‐ a service that provides meals to the home‐bound in the Greater Philadelphia Area.
The bazaar will be held on the second floor of the Parish House, located across the green from the church; 100 Washington Avenue.
