UPPER MAKEFIELD - The Patriot FC Soccer Club hosted its annual Philadelphia Union Night Thursday, Oct. 6 at Brownsburg Park in Upper Makefield.
Philadelphia Union defender Ken Tribbett was the featured guest from Major League Soccer's (MLS) most popular team in the Delaware Valley.
Tribbett, a 23-year-old center-backfielder, was an original signee for Bethlehem Steel, but was on trial with Union throughout the 2016 preseason. After earning a contract, he has found himself on the field for the Union early in the 2016 campaign. In 21 games for the Chester-based MLS franchise, Tribbett has notched two goals and one assist so far for the Union.
A native of Colorado, Tribbett is a product of Drexel University who played for the Dragons from 2010 to 2013. A four-year starter at Drexel, the then-defensive midfielder earned second team All-South Atlantic region, first team All-Colonial Athletic Association and CAA All-Tournament honors after leading Dragons to their first CAA Tournament title and a second consecutive berth in the NCAA tournament during his senior year (2013).
Since college, Tribbett has played for the Harrisburg City Islanders (2015), where he started 28 matches while scoring three goals in his first professional season. Prior to the City Islanders, Tribbett played in the PDL for the Michigan Bucks in 2014.
Based in Washington's Crossing, Patriot FC's mission is to develop, promote, teach and administer the game of soccer to boys and girls under the age of 19. That mission is accomplished through high-level soccer training, coaching, and participation in league and tournament competition. The club offers intramural, travel development, and travel soccer programs which foster and provide a positive environment in which to learn a love for the game.
