NEWTOWN BOROUGH >> Borough voters in the town’s two voting districts came out strong for the Democrats on Election Day with 884 casting their votes for Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and 549 voting for Republican Donald Trump.

Voters also overwhelmingly supported Democrat Katie McGinty over incumbent Republican Pat Toomey in the race for U.S. Senate with 789 voting for McGinty and 692 for Toomey.

They also gave Democrat Steve Santarsiero their support for U.S. Congress with 857 votes to Republican Brian Fitzpatrick’s 648 votes. Santarsiero represents the borough in the state house of representatives in Harrisburg.

And not surprisingly, Democrat Perry Warren, who serves on the borough council, was the top vote getter for the job of state representative tallying 893 votes to Republican Newtown Township Supervisor Ryan Gallagher’s 612 votes.

The numbers are unofficial until they are validated by the Bucks County Board of Elections
