BEST BETS:

Making the Cincinnati Bengals one of my picks — let alone my lock — scares the crap out of me, but I have no idea why they're only two-point favorites over the 49ers at home. San Francisco was every bit as much lucky as good to beat the Bucs last Sunday, if not moreso, in a total slopfest, while the Bengals really surprised me with how competitive they were vs. the Seahawks in Seattle. Add to that this is the Niners' second straight week traveling through three time zones and I'm a tigers guy this Sunday.

AA: KC

Locking the Chiefs last week on the road worked out, so why not run it back? After all, I'm not terribly concerned about the absence of Tyreek Hill in Andy Reid's video game offense, and I'll believe Oakland's 'D' — now without first-round S Johnathan Abram — is markedly improved only after it proves it against someone other than Joe Flacco. The Raiders get Gareon Conley back, but this will be the first time that Gabe Jackson's absence looms large, with Chris Jones collapsing Derek Carr's pocket and making his downfield success vs. Denver a distant memory.

LAST WEEK'S RESULTS (SU, ATS & BEST BET):

HA: 11-3-1, 5-10 & 0-1

AA: 11-3-1, 7-8 & 1-0
