MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP >> The storms that swept through Bucks County on Wednesday have claimed the life of a Bucks County teenager.

Police said 15 year old Phil Oseredzuk was out kayaking with a friend Wednesday night on the rain swollen Mill Creek in the Snowball Gate section of the township when he fell out of his kayak.

According to reports, Oseredzuk was hanging onto a branch when rescuers arrived and were trying to save him when he went under the water.

After rescuers pulled him from the water five minutes later, he went into cardiac arrest.

Oseredzuk was transported to St. Mary Medical Center and then to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where he died Thursday morning.

Oseredzuk was a student at Neshaminy High School where he played on the high school’s ice hockey team.

“We are all heartbroken today,” reads a post on the team’s FaceBook page. “Our thoughts, prayers, and love goes out to the Oseredzuk family. We are all better for having had Phil in our lives. Fly high #51.”
