BRISTOL TOWNSHIP >> State Representative Tina Davis (D-141) has announced her candidacy for State Senator in Pennsylvania’s Sixth Senatorial District.
“Today, I am proud to announce that I will be running for State Senate in the 6th Senatorial District,” said Representative Davis. “Over past several months I have been urged to run for the Senate by business leaders and labor organizers, activists and government officials, and men and women of every political stripe from all across our region. Today I am answering their call.
“I am proud of all that I have been able to accomplish representing Lower Bucks County in local and state government – from greater transparency and accountability, to ensuring that our region receives the funding we need to improve everyone’s lives, but our work is not done. We need better funding for our schools, we need to increase wages for middle class families, and we need real and lasting protections for women’s rights across Pennsylvania.
“But there are those that do not want us to succeed – our President and Congress are constantly trying to force a vision of America on us that we do not share. The best backstop to their out of touch (and often-times disastrous) policies is what we do in Harrisburg. In the Senate, we will have a larger platform and a louder voice to do what we have always done; work tirelessly as a passionate voice for everyone in Lower Bucks County.”
Tina Davis for State Senate will be hosting a formal kick-off event in February.
Representative Tina Davis has served as a State Representative for the 141st legislative district since 2011. Prior to that, she was a member of Bristol Council. Tina lives in Bristol Township with her husband Jim who owns a small trucking business. They have three children and she is a proud hockey mom.
The 6th Senatorial District, now represented by Republican Robert Tomlinson, includes Bensalem Township, Bristol Borough, Bristol Township, Hulmeville Borough, Ivyland Borough, Langhorne Borough, Langhorne Manor Borough, Lower Southampton Township, Middletown Township, Northampton Township, Penndel Borough, Warwick Township and Wrightstown Township.
