PENNSBURY >> Superintendent Dr. William Gretzula on May 21 met with the Odyssey of the Mind (OM) team from Pennwood Middle School that will be heading to the OM World Finals at Michigan State University this week to represent the Pennsbury School District.
Dr. Gretzula discussed the competition with the seventh graders and wished them luck at Worlds, which will run from May 22-25 at the MSU campus in East Lansing.
The same team of students made it to Worlds two years ago when they were fifth graders at Eleanor Roosevelt Elementary so this is their second trip back to MSU for OM Worlds.
This year, the team came in second place at OM Regionals and States to qualify for Worlds. They achieved their success by completing Problem #3, titled “Classics...Leonardo’s Workshop.” Their coach is Pennsbury parent, Krista Oleynick.
The team includes Pennwood Middle School seventh graders Daniel Kim, Megan Oleynick, Caylee VanVeen, Sophie Oleynick, Harshavi Birla, Dominic Gentile and Milo Cabral (who attends Bucks Learning Cooperative).
