NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP >> A Levittown man has been charged with terroristic threats and disorderly conduct in connection with an incident that prompted evacuations at the Bucks County Community College campus in Newtown on May 7.
Noah Andress was processed and then arraigned before District Judge Mick Petrucci on May 23 before being released on $50,000 unsecured bail.
On May 7, the Newtown Township Police Department and the Bucks County Community College (BCCC) investigated a report of a possible active shooter at the Newtown campus.
Following a fire alarm activation, police said several students reported hearing a man scream, "active shooter" in the area. The students fled and reported the incident to staff and security.
Text and email alerts were sent out to the BCCC community, which police said prompted calls to the Bucks County 911 Center and evacuations throughout the campus.
Following an investigation by police and BCCC Security & Safety, police said the campus was deemed safe and the individual screaming was identified as Noah Andress. It was later determined that Noah had no prior knowledge of an active shooter being on campus, police said.
