fraud scheme

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP >> Do you recognize these people? According to Newtown Township Police, they are suspected of making fraudulent transactions at the Bank of America Branch with stolen IDs, credit cards and bank checks.

Police were alerted to the fraud when a victim reported on June 25 that several unauthorized transactions were made against her bank account.

A follow up investigation determined that a white male and a white female made several transactions over the span of a few days with various IDs, credit cards and bank checks, all of which were stolen from vehicles in incidents dating back to January 2018 in Bethlehem, Haverford, Pottstown and North Wales.

Police said the suspects fled the Bank of America in Newtown Township after the teller became suspicious. They left behind a victim’s ID, credit card and bank check. The two suspects can be viewed in this photo operating a newer model white Nissan Rogue.
