Accident Scene

Firefighters from the Yardley-Makefield Fire Company were dispatched to the accident scene on North Delaware Avenue on Sunday evening, April 15 at approximately 9:24 p.m.

SOLEBURY TOWNSHIP >> A construction worker was killed Friday morning after falling from a bridge on Street Road between Pidcock Creek and Ridge roads.

Shortly after 8 a.m., police and rescue personnel responded to the scene and located the construction worker unresponsive at the base of the bridge and in the creek.

The man, employed by Ettore Ventresca & Sons Inc., was working on a deck replacement project when he apparantly fell from the top bridge abutment, police said. He sustained critical injuries from the fall and was treated on location and transported by Central Bucks EMS to Saint Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. where he was pronounced dead.

The Solebury Township Police Department was assisted on location by Midway Fire Company and Central Bucks EMS.

An investigation is being conducted by the Solebury Township Police and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) office from Allentown.

The victim's identification is being withheld pending notification.
