NEWTOWN >> The Annual Newtown Strawberry Festival will kick off the unofficial start of the summer season on Saturday, June 1 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the grounds of the Historic Presbyterian Church, 76 North Sycamore Street in Newtown.
Once again, this year’s event promises to be a time of fun for the entire family with the strawberry as its centerpiece.
Throughout the day, strawberry shortcut made with the first fresh-picked berries of the season from Shady Brook Farm will be served over your choice of angel food or pound cake and with or without whipped cream.
In addition, there will be live music, great food, including popular pulled pork sandwiches, games for the kids, face painting, balloon art and prizes.
Come early for a chance to purchase Bountiful Baskets full of valuable bargains. Baskets will feature items from area merchants, themed baskets, children’s toys, etc.
In addition, Lancaster County sharp cheese, strawberry jams and breads, chocolate-dipped strawberries, and goodies will also be for sale.
