Newtown 75 Cabinets

NEWTOWN >> If you’re looking to upgrade your kitchen or just give it a fresh, new classic appearance, check out the newly opened 75 Cabinets in the Village of Newtown South Shopping Center.

Located near Smoothie King, this is the second location for the Warrington-based kitchen and bathroom cabinet company owned and operated by Diana and Derrick Simmons.

From floor to ceiling, the store is filled with an array of counter top and cabinetry options, accessories including knobs and hardware, sinks and faucets - “all the things you need to make your kitchen a kitchen,” said Diana.

When entering the store, customers are greeted by an example of today’s trendy Shaker-style cabinetry boasting a classic simple look making them an increasingly popular pick in traditional or contemporary kitchen renovations.

“We’re kind of unique when it comes to a kitchen and bath place,” said Diana. “We have your Kia all the way up to your Ferrari in cabinetry. We have your stock, your semi-custom and your full-custom cabinetry.”

Diana said when a customer comes into their store, the focus is on educating them and pointing them in the right direction. “Since we do offer so many options, we want to make sure we match them with the right option.”

While the store doesn’t handle installations, it does work with a lot of local contractors who do that kind of work. “So if somebody is looking for someone we can provide a list of people and recommendations,” said Diana.

“You have to come by and check us out,” adds Diana. “We have something for everyone. We can be affordable, quick and easy.”

The Simmons opened their first store in Warrington eight years ago on Easton Road. It has since grown to include a 20,000 square foot distribution center in Willow Grove.

Since opening their Newtown store a few months ago, Diana said the reception has been great. “This is actually picking up a lot quicker than our Warrington store. That’s pretty remarkable considering that store is next to a Home Depot.”

Local business and government leaders were on hand to officially welcome 75 Cabinets and the Simmons to Newtown with a ceremonial ribbon cutting ceremony.

Helping to cut the ribbon were State Rep. Perry Warren, Newtown Township Supervisor Dennis Fisher and Newtown Business Association Representative Gerry Couch.

“We’d like to welcome 75 Cabinets to Newtown. It’s a nice addition to town and another option for our folks. I think it’s going to work out very well for them,” said Couch.

Fisher added, “It’s always good to welcome a small, local business to town. It adds to the economy, helps build our tax base and creates jobs.”

State Rep. Perry Warren noted that this is the third ribbon cutting taking place this year at the Village of Newtown South coming on the heels of the Bright Now! Dental practice and the Pharmacy of Newtown.

”We have a changing economy with a changing mix of businesses. These new stores that are opening monthly exemplify that and are serving the new and changing needs of our residents and our community.”
