NEWTOWN >> CARSTAR, North America’s largest premier network of independently owned and operated collision repair facilities, surprised one of its collision repair technicians in Newtown with a 3M File Belt Sander in celebration of employee appreciation month.
“If you were to google search ‘the ideal employee’ Mr. (Matthew) Bowker's picture would always show up,” said General Manager Steve Belger of CARSTAR Fred Beans Newtown. “This gentleman always goes above and beyond when it comes to helping to provide for the team and company. He is here every day, rarely takes time off, always first in the door and always the last one to leave – just to make sure the job is done.
"The positive attitude that he brings to the shop on a daily basis has single handily, at times, been the sole contributor for the good swings in moral with the other staff on the floor," continued Belger. "Whenever I'm in need, Mr. Bowker is always there to lend his helping hand inside and outside of work. He is always leading the way to take repairs to the next level of safety, while ensuring the use of proper repair methods. It's, I would say, embedded in his DNA to always do the right thing without expecting anything in return. Just recently he volunteered to help out our CARSTAR area manager, Anthony Falasco, in getting him ready for his I-CAR welding certification by teaching him how to weld and spending the whole day making sure he'd be ready for his certification. I can honestly say that out of my sixteen years of running shops Matthew has been the most outstanding employee I have ever had the pleasure to work with and I hope he knows that we do truly appreciate everything he does for us.”
Bowker was one of the 30 Employee of the Month winners, selected from over 650 CARSTAR locations from across North America. CARSTAR’s employee appreciation is a part of the yearlong celebration of its 30th anniversary. Each month, the CARSTAR family is doing something unique to thank the many communities, franchise partners and employees for their continued support throughout its 30th years of business.
